  • Mountains near Raquette Lake

It looks like I may finally get to the mountains towards the end of August. We may stay at Golden Beach Campground.Does anyone know of any good mountains close by.I have done Black Bear,Bald, and Rocky near Inlet and would do Black Bear again but I'm looking for something new.I really don't want to go as far as Blue Mountain Lake to do Blue Mountain but if there are no alternatives I will.I know it's not that far but I'm looking for a quieter mountain.
    Thanks

Try some of the NPT. Tirrell pond trail. If bored a nice little waterfall is located just south of the campground entrance (a simple walk). It does not have signage but is behind a yellow barricade. Some game trails exist here and I've wandered aimlessly back there awhile.

West Mtn trail head takes off from Sucker Brook Bay on Raquette Lk.
A fairly easy climb and much quieter than the others you listed.

Blue Mtn will only be a 20 minute ride from GB campgrounds.
