Headed up to Old Forge today with my younger son to give him a taste of fatbiking. This time I got to try the Surly Pugsley - definitely a different feel as compared to the Framed Minnesota 2.0.

Chilly out, but not bad once we started going. Rode the back roads/bike trail and then headed off into the woods. As long as we stayed out of the snowshoe tracks we were fine.

Fun to be back out. My son is now hooked. We're both looking forward to riding again.

    Are they rentals? How much?
I'm not a Hippie, just a well groomed Mountain Man.

Nice! It was colder than expected- finally warmed up around 2pm. What was you take comparing the two bikes?

2:00 is right about when we ended our ride. Looks like we missed that warmer weather.

Liked both bikes for different reasons. The Minnesota felt lighter and easier to maneuver. Overall frame size fit me better. Downhills on the snowy roads definitely held a better "wheeee!" factor for me. However, because the Pugsley felt more solid, I was more confident traveling through sloppy snow, and was able to do a better - not great, but better - job on the trails.

Yep. Rental from Mountainman in Old Forge. $32 for four hours. They also rent by the day, but I don't recall the price.
