OK, we've had foliage, sunrises, sunsets, dogs, backpacks...How abouts boats? I want to see everything from spotless showpieces to ugly beaters. Every scar has it's story.
Here are a few of mine:
My 18 footer.
My beat up old 17 footer
My K19 on a good day
My old Capri 14.2

Not that you can see the boat all that well, but you get the idea. This was from the end of October, 2 years ago. Sadly, the end of October isn't all that far away!

A few of the boats that have floated me across Adirondack waters over the last 11 years... and two of my favorite paddling companions.

Three of my woodstrip boats were built by Pat Brown Boatworks. - Guideboat on 8th Lake, (photo in Pat's barn), war canoe truck transport, and tandem stripper with a friend/Hornbeck on Little Tupper.

I also love the Placidboat and Hornbeck (with Knupak and spray cover).

Boy Scout rescue demonstrations and sailing are fun too.

No fancy boats for us. Just two durable, heavy Royalex boats. I'm debating buying a wee lassie or something similar, to go with my solo 15 foot Penobscot. Provided I still have a job, and inflation doesn't suck up every last bit of my stagnant wage.

However, I do love paddling tandem with my wife, so more than likely a Kevlar tandem with beefier expedition layup will be added and then we can outfit the Scout as originally intended for river tripping complete with flotation and thigh braces. The Bonaventure River on the Gaspe is high on the list of rivers to trip.

My only two boats:

Had to dig out the transparencies and scanner, but here are a few views of my much dislked 16 ft Grant pattern...built in '89, sold in '91...man, I forgot how much I didn't like that boat. And after all those years of dreaming. Oh well, on to the next one!!

hickoryskier 10-15-2008 10:58 PM

Hey stipperguy, you dont have the forms for that guideboat, do ya?

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. These are working boats.
(...that photo of Pat Brown's barn makes me drool)

I wish I had the money to afford some of these beautiful boats! I simply own a Perception Arcadia and a Perception Torrent. That's the life of a college student I suppose

Wow, these are some beautiful shots! I sure wish Colden had submitted his October shot for the calendar competition...
