I did a small loop in the BRWF yesterday and today.

The first quarter mile of the trip south from McKeever to Bear Lake was wet- though it always is.

Everything was smooth on the rest of that...

Most animals that are typically a darker brown will have phases where they appear more black. I will almost 100% say it was a fisher. Potentially an American marten, but probably not.

The Sweetwater doesn't look that slow on the youtube...

Those will be rhamnus cathartica- the European Buckthorn. Where are you in CNY? I'm in Morrisville- the stuff is everywhere. Look for the dark green leaves with arcuate veniation.
