I disagree.....In big woods one doesn't usually find a nice, lone, fresh track without putting some miles on, and mature bucks typically don't live in a small area during the rut as they're covering...

In the case of their hunting forecasts, the DEC's only agenda is to paint a rosy picture in hopes of selling more tags. If anything, their forecasts are typically more optimistic than they should be.

Certainly there are places in the Adks with deer populations higher than the land can support. Most of those places are around towns like Old Forge with lots of tame deer, or in the fringe farmland...
