I wonder if the drop in the population is due to the more accurate method of estimating the population. Years past estimates seemed to be of the back of the envelope guestimates verse the latest...

I do a little of both, still hunting and stand hunting, depending on the weather, deer movement and my patience to sit. I have one friend that marches in at dawn and stays in one spot until dark day...

I have done my share of bringing out backwoods...

I have done my share of bringing out backwoods deer from some rugged areas around Tupper lake and I am done dragging. What my group has come to use looks like a stretcher mounted on a bicycle wheel....

You might take a look at Coreys Rd between Tupper...

You might take a look at Coreys Rd between Tupper Lake And Saranac Lake. Couple of trails will take you into some serious back country along the Seward range.

You might want to take a look at Lewey lake. Lots of opportunity to paddle on both indian and lewey lake. Also trails from the campground and nearby area which would be good for your boys. Good luck

Went into Barker pond 2.8 miles off main road on well maintained road. Saw one deer but there was lots of sign . Good luck
