So true. :clap:The stories of hiking Allen seem to scare everyone off from that area. Mt. Adams is one of the best firetower hikes in the ADK with some of the greatest views of all the non high peaks.

I would go light with just hammocks and a tarp....

I would go light with just hammocks and a tarp. This way even a full pack should not kill your legs (hopefully). Elk pass is steep up or down so if your legs are shaky that makes for a misery mile...

Woodhull would be a long day in the winter. St. Regis is a great snowshoe and good views. Any high peak if you want a good adventure this time of year.
