New smiley suggestion...

How about one with a gun to his head for threads that make you want to do that sort of thing......

I don't think so.

As you know, I'm a Kanadian and we Kanadians have this thing about firearms. We are downright squeamish about them in fact. We are just a bunch of innocent, furry bunny rabbits.

How about a smiley (an animated gif) of someone pointing a cell phone to their heads and when they push the "button" a little flag comes out that says, "freedom"?

In that case, can we have an icon of a club bludgeoning a seal pup?

I wouldn't have thought a "down home" bushwhacking cannook such as yourself would be so hung up on "the false freedom of cell gab"....does it make you feel secure to have that capability of unlimited contact in case your GPS takes a slip?????

I'm on the phone all hike long. Mostly with my broker. I made a killing on the Asian and copper futurs markets last Thursday while bushwhacking to Yard Hill from Nundagao ridge.

My latest doohickey has GPS, cell phone, Facebooger and Google realtime mapping in a 3 inch screen that hangs down in a heads up display and has a sensitive mike and a nice speaker so I'm hands-free. I stay connected via a sat linkup so cell phone tower discussions bore me to tears.

Willie the smiley king: that smiley is too funny.

New Smiley Suggestion

If we can't have a "shoot myself" smiley icon, can we get a "shoot you" one?

I like that![backwoodsman] You know that a Forum doesn't lend itself to seeing a person ''eye to eye'' The limitations are there. That's why members should get together as often as possible. Looncry

I second Looncry's sentiment.

Actually... I think the board would do well to have all smileys eliminated ...they are useless, superfluous, boring and self-indulgent ...there is no reason why reasonable people can't express themselves in plain English without having to resort to artificial charicatures ...I'm getting downright annoyed by them ...can't we just all get along without these superficial comics ? In fact, if I see another one on this forum, I'm gonna

Is there a smiley that signifies "Don't hold back." or perhaps.."Tell us how you *really* feel?"
.

... And I'm feelin' it.
