Climbable Fire Towers

I haven't found a source in one place that lists which of the Fire Towers are actually able to be climbed. I've done a few, and am planning 2 more in a couple weeks. Can anyone chime in on what's accessible?

Arab - yes
Bald - yes
Cathedral Rock - yes
Snowy - yes

Thanks

There is a document here that may help:http://www.firelookout.org/ny-tower-8-8-10.pdf

Bob,

Thanks for that link, lots of interesting info there. I always wondered about the fire tower visible when I stayed on the island at Rock Pond. Privately owned by Whitney Industries, Salmon Lake Mt...I'm sure others have noticed it too.

Another I've done

I've also been up the tower on Dickenson Hill (#88 on the list in the link). It is accessible from Grafton Lakes State park in Rensselear County. Makes for a good (but challenging) XC ski destination with their above average snowfall at the park's elevation. An old dirt 4wd road leads East from the NE corner of the largest of the lakes. Not long after it flattens out and you pass a residence on the left, look to your right then up steeply. The tower is climbable to the cab.

Azure IS climbable, have done it each time I've climbed Azure. Great views.

Lunch?

Thanks everyone.

I think we've decided on Hadley and Belfry. It'll be a (long) day trip from Rochester!

Any ideas for lunch or dinner in the Lake George area? I've only ever driven through on the Northway, so I don't really know the area. I kind of prefer the mom and pop, hole in the wall places.

Thanks!
