Camps on the Long Ponds Easement can save their camps if they pay a fee. The article doesn't say if it an annual fee or a one time fee.

To me this sets a standard that as long as you can pay the state you can maintain a piece of the park and call it your own regardless if it has been part of an agreement previously agreed upon.

Probably lots of gray area here and I know very little about this, but it is an easement over PRIVATE property and there are lots of ways to do an easement. It's not like they are on Forest Preserve.

The original agreement was for 15 years. And is about to expire. Most if not all the family camps and I believe 1 in was to be demolished and the land turned over to the park. It because a lot of the families said the camps were so much a part of their lives, Sen Richie negotiated the stated agreement for them to keep the camps.
