Super Bowl

Any predictions?

Giants 30
Patriots 27

MVP: Hakeem Nicks

I'd pick Bradshaw or Jacobs but I think between them the Giants will have their best running game of the season.

If I had kids I would have turned the TV off after the half game show with the crotch grabbing and finger.....uncalled for trash promotion....ruined the second half for me.. I am so upset with this behavior on MSM...again....

How do you adapt at age 65 to younger co-workers, example Tom Coughlin?

The way he describes it, he loves his team and is having the time of his life. And that was before tonight.

The oldest coach to win the Super Bowl. The first team to win a Super Bowl with a 9-7 record.

Eli #2 SB wins and 2 MVP's and one of the greatest throws to Mario Manningham and one of the greatest catchest and getting both feet in bounds. And winning in his brother's stadium.

They also provided two of the most exciting Super Bowls to watch as a fan in history. Either team could have won either game.

Just amazing that both games came down to Eli getting the go ahead points with amazing catches by his receivers, and Brady getting a last gasp throw with time running out in both games.

It was a very surreal/deja vu all over again to the past few weeks for NY Giants.

Their have been many great teams, great coaches, and great qb's over the years in the Super Bowl, but it's pretty amazing the Giants won 2 Super Bowls in not exactly the same road to the Super Bowl, but pretty eerily close against the Packers in the playoffs, kicking game winning field goals in the Championship games in overtimes, and beating the same team, same coach, and same qb in the 4th quarter is pretty freaky.

You can't make this stuff up. It did really happen.

There are a lot of great sports and great sport moments, but football, right now is pretty amazing.

We watched it on the net as we dumped cable last year. The halftime show wasn't streamed. Sounds like I didn't miss anything.

Unfortunately everything is about Money and marketing is targeting the under 30 group. Crotch grabbing and pointing has become as much a part of the norm as Facebook.

Today I hear pre teens and even younger using the F word, "B**itch". "Wh**e" and all sorts of disrespectful words in front of their parents with impunity. Hell, often I hear the parents using it in front of their kids.

It's neither ethnic nor demographic. It's generational. it's just another indication that American Society (the only one I'm exposed to now) is going to Hell in a handbasket. While we get more and more sophisticated with our technology, our morals, ethics, and personal behavior is regressing back to the middle ages or even roman times.

I can visualize the Super Bowl along the same lines as the games in the coliseum, a diversion for the public to take their mind off the fact that their rights and their liberties are being systematically eroded.

So, don't be upset by the half time show, be angry about the erosion of the things that once made this country great.

Perhaps that is why you don't think very highly of Eli?

Unfortunately some people are going to dislike him even if he wins 6 more Super Bowls...which I hope he does...I like this kid...competitive, big heart, tough, and a team guy...just a few words to describe from my way of thinking of him .

No I haven't liked him since college. It has a lot to do with what he pulled in the draft too.

In Quebec City a big yawner. We had a whole widescreen TV in a bistro to ourselves and two other Americans.

Hockey was the big attraction.

It was the way he did it. Come on I even know a lot of Giants fans who disagree with what he did. It's just something about him I don't like. It started early when he was at Ole Miss. I think its his face. I don't like it.

I think more atheletes need to take ther careers in their hands, especially in college.

Yeh, I know, they're overpaid, etc, etc, etc. But The NFL, NBA, MLB etc have a monopoly and complete control over the lives of people, especially early. It's as if they are indentured.

So, I'm for anyone that bucks the system and distributes the power back among the people. That's what America was always supposed to be about. Now the ones with the power make it sound as if individual rights are unpatriotic and a form of Socialism.

A lot of people didn't like Muhummad Ali for what he did either. But he was still the best heavyweight ever regardless. Then it turns out that he was right all the time and had the courage to stand up for his principles in spite of what it would cost him. 50 years later he is one of the most respected people on earth.

He owes somebody a lot of money that gave him that advice when he was being drafted.

If you look at if for what it is, a business in the entertainment industry, his decision makes perfect sense.

It's not like San Diego payed a loyal player like Ladanian to stick around past his prime.

So that other 4 page thread about Eli is all BS - You have no idea about what you are talking about and base all you wrote on how he looks and what he did before even taking a snap in the NFL. Obviously nothing of what you wrote is based on his on-field performance. I felt the same way you "described" in your earlier postswatching him from his first year thru this past superbowl. But since I have watched a ton of Giants games and have seen how this kid runs an NFL offense, MOST teams (prolly yours too) would love to have Eli under center. whatever credibility you had (at least football-wise) is gone on this forum.

Yes please take every post on the internet seriously. If you're going to then your credibility means nothing to me anyway. I base my decisions in life on how someone looks. That is why I only buy Hawk vittles because I like his face. You know I have had a lot of fun with these discussions and the going back and forth until now. 99% of the things I say is very tounge in cheek. I know it's hard to pick up on that over just reading it, but really? I think it's fun to stir things up and I am very sorry that you take internet posts seriously and become offended. To make it all better Eli is the most handsomest man EVER! He is the bestest quarterback to play the game. I bow to him. Please take that seriously.

Edit: BTW thank you for E-policing and taking away my E-credibility. I will now crawl into an E-hole.

Eli Manning invented the forward pass and sliced bread.

If Jesus is the son of god Eli has to be a nephew or cousin.

There's something I didn't know. Good thing I take internet posts seriously or I never would have found that all out.
