Meeting forum members

Any news on another forum gathering this summer or fall?

Which also had me thinking & wondering...
How many forum members have you knowingly met face to face?
...Past or present members, active or inactive posters.

I would imagine for some of you the list would be pretty large.
I'm just curious and thought that it might make for a fun forum discussion.

After joining this forum over 5 years ago, I'm happy to say that I have had the honor of meeting 16 ADKforum members:

Backwoodsman
Colden46
C&M Farber
DuctTape
DSettahr
fvrwld
kwc
Neil
Little Rickie
Redhawk
Redoak
Stripperguy
Ward
wildriver
Wildernessphoto
WOBBLER

There are a few others that I have crossed paths with, but didn't realize it until after the fact...

Kevin
Sky
Drifter

...And there are a few more that are either relatives or long time close friends, but they do not post much or at all, so I guess my list would be 24 (past or present) members total.

I apologize in advance if I may have forgotten a member or two, and I look forward to meeting more of you in the future.

So how about you?

And how about another get-together soon?

We really need a secret handshake or some sort of universal sign...

I may have met more of you without knowing it, but again, we need that secret handshake or a patch!
My guess is that more folks would remember me because of my canoes.

I have met quite a few, and continue to do so. I still remember the first time; drove to redhawk's for the gathering on my way to Forked Lake. After that, I have hiked, camped, and paddled with numerous members. Heck we have even had a few Rochester local pub get togethers in years past.

Late August or fall seems to be a good time for a gathering. People are away a lot during the summer. Note that August 19-21 there is a forum (VFTT and ADKHP) gathering near Lewis. I think this'll be the 10th annual edition.

With the people on this forum there could be a lot of different activities going on during the day. It would be interesting to organize a day of mentoring. Ie. A fly fisherman takes a peakbagger out and (drowns him) teaches him the rudiments of his art.

Rock climbing
Fly fishing
Kayaking
Canoodling
White water
Bird watching
Photography
Geology
Nematode study (?)
Road kill cookery
Bushwhacking
Hiking
Peak-bagging
Sun tanning
Arguing ()

I would rather taste beer than scat any day.

Getting back on topic.....
I've crossed paths with Stripperguy in the Long Pond parking area, but didn't realize it; almost met up with Bluequill a week ago; met up and paddled with Awetcanoe a couple years ago; and just met SD11856G last week at Round Lake (unplanned).
I think a ball-cap with the forum logo should be offered for sale as a way to ID other members. I have one of the shirts, but you wouldn't want to meet me if I wore it more than one day..... plus,my PFD covers it up.

When is the next round-up event? I think a secret signal would be best. Like scratching your chin with your pinky maybe? Then a follow up confirmation signal of some sort.
Any suggestions...
