I nearly thought I was crazy to see a frog hopping on US-209 in Accord on Friday evening (yes a frog hopping the road on February 24 ). As I was leaving Rondout area on Sat. late afternoon, they were broadcasting tornado warning for Sullivan Co...
Central Hudson (the local Electric Co.) was still restoring power on Monday, so there was some extensive damage, Olive was hit pretty hard I hear.Feverishly avoiding "a steady stream of humanity, with a view that offers little more than butts, boots, elbows and backsides". Haven't been on those trails in a while, but if they get that inch of rain forecast for Friday there won't be any measurable snow left on the ground. Streams will be high on Saturday but should quickly subside.
Probably only the North facing slopes and gullies holding any snow there right now.
NYNJTC used to have a decent trail conditions page, looks like they've not updated anything lately.
Hopefully someone will chime in with more direct experience.Feverishly avoiding "a steady stream of humanity, with a view that offers little more than butts, boots, elbows and backsides". (description quote from Joe Hackett)
