Backcountry Conditions (Sewards?)

Has anyone been in the Sewards lately or any other ranges? Just wondering the snow/ice conditions?

I was on St. Regis last Sunday and I confirm it's snowshoe season in that area (not very far from Sewards). There wasn't a lot of ice, but St. Regis isn't too steep.

Keep in mind that the gate on Corey's Road will close the first week of December for logging, so there is an extra 3 miles to walk to the Sewards trailhead. See the notice at

Backcountry Conditions (Sewards?)

Thanks, Deb. I quickly skimmed that bulletin and missed it. Aspiring winter 46ers will have three more miles of road walk each way added to their quest of the Sewards or Seymour this winter. Makes a long day into a very long day, but not impossible.
