train conditions?

We r going to b taking a trip and i plan on camping at marcy dam. the day after we r going to climb colden and come back through avalanche pass. Has anyone been through there recently? if so jw what the condition of the trails were? thanks

I made that loop last Friday. I was wearing non-waterproof trail runners and my socks stayed dry all day. I was surprised actually, considering that everyone has been saying how awful the trails are this year. I'm not saying there's no mud, I'm just saying it's avoidable.

The last couple weekends I've been out and the trails seem to have drained most of the prior weeks of rain away. All that's left is some mud, which is usually the case anyway.
