very short report

Had a couple free hours between various commitments so headed to a pond I haven't fished yet this year. Fished shallow without success then remembered beartooth's report about the fish being deeper so fished over 20 ft. of water and picked up a 19" fatty that was suspended at around 10 ft. Released her to get bigger.

nice job, you're having a hell of a start to your season! I've seen the same thing on my outings, not much success at all in the shallows. I went to one of my main ponds yesterday to change things up (I've been trying some new spots) and all fish were taken cruising open water. Good numbers for me so far this season, but the big boys have eluded me.
