A Moose in my yard!
I knew it was just a matter of time, until I had a moose in my yard, and today was the day! There was a calf and a cow, but by the time I grabbed my camera and got a few shots, the calf was gone. Now, you must understand, in my excitement, when picking up my camera, I hit the manual focus button!!! GGGrrrrr!! Also, in my excitement, I never noticed they were out of focus! LOL! Anyway, the 1st picture was taken through my kitchen window and screen, and the 2nd was from my deck. Now I know why people are killed when they hit these guys on the road.. they are HUGE!
Be careful driving through Sugarbush on Route 3!!!!!!!! Jackie ![]() ![]() |

Very nice! I'm still waiting to see my first Adirondack moose, much less one in my backyard. I have seen tracks on the hill above my house, and I know there's an established population nearby, but most of my excursions are in areas where they are less likely to be found. I'm sure if I set out specifically to sight one I'd be successful.

Yes, Moose have been seen quite a few times here in Sugarbush. In fact, in the last two years, two have been hit and killed on Route 3. The last one was hit by two cars AND a motorcycle on Sugarbush Hill just a few weeks ago.
