That's an interesting fact, one I haven't heard before. I assumed that they were deer ticks. Thanks for the clarification.

The "Catbird Seat" references the entity in control.
In this case, humans.
Some times, we don't use the position as we should.

Maybe it was The Devil who put them here. DID YOU EVER THINK OF THAT?

I think a true outdoorsman would probably shun computers. They make communication with others waaaaay too easy. You should have to walk to where they are and talk face-to-face or not talk to them at all.

To put it simply, the Creator made us all.
Critters, you and I.
I'm not thinking that He would approve of GPS devices.
My thought is that He would say "you're on your own, buddy".
Of course, that would leave many of you with no signal and requiring the DEC to come rescue you.

No doubt that "He" disliked those ankle biting stable flies the most...

ehhhh...you believe what you want. That's cool. I was joking, implying that you have such disdain for technology that maybe you should, I don't know...go be Amish or something. Whether or not there was a creator who hates GPS satellites, well, I'll leave that up to you.

Voted for ticks. But would like to get rid of others too.

I agree that the deer tick population has exploded in the last decade or so. The only place I ever ran across them was in sections of southeast NY - never in central or northern NY. Places that never had them before are now infested with them. Were they transported from the lower and mid Hudson regions by humans and pets or did they hitch rides with wildlife that dispersed? Obviously they can tolerate a variety of climates and terrain. I voted ticks. Several friends and associates have Lyme and I know how they would vote.

I'm thinking that He would be more disappointed by our antics.
I will acknowledge that those saber toothed flies are super bad!

So one has to think of Who gave us the free will making those "antics" possible. Is that not part of the grand plan?

I just wanted to see who you all wanted to kill, now it has transformed into what is the meaning of life!!! It is a known fact that atheists, protestants, Muslims, Catholics, and a few others all hate these damn bugs!!!

I'm coming up in a few weeks to spend a couple days out in the woods. I will kill every single thing that tries to bite me. Maybe not a bear, I'll hopefully just chase him or her away!!!

Before you get your undies all twisted up Hard Scrabble, I am only kidding - I'll kill the bear too!!!
