Moose River Plains
I am planning a trip up to Moose River Plains May 22 through May 27th, anyone know if the roads are open? I like to stay on the far end so that I can kayak towards the West Canada Lakes area.
Last year the DEC had a page on the website to check conditions, but I can't find it now. |

"The Limekiln gate on the Inlet side of the Moose River Plains Road will open the afternoon of May 15. The road will be accessible to motor vehicles up to a barrier at the Lost Pond Road. The Rock Dam Road, the Otter Brook Road and the Lost Pond Road remain closed at this time due to muddy road conditions. The Cedar River Road is passable to the Cedar River Headquarters but the gate is closed, preventing motor vehicle travel beyond that point."
