Hunter mountain ???

I am looking to take the colonels chair lift up and finish hiking to the tower. Can this be done? Is there a fee? Is it hard to find the trail once you get off the chair lift? And will i be able to take the chair lift back down or do they not allow it?

We often forget about the high peaks of the Catskills.

I loved hiking Hunter, although I would recommend going up through the Devils Acre from the trailhead and down the carriage path, stopping to enjoy the views from John Robb Lean to. I just found it much easier than the steady uphill burn of the carriage path. As far as the Colonels Chair, I believe there is a small fee in the non-skiing months, and its VERY easy to finish from there.
