Saw this strange-freshly chewed balsam yesterday. It almost looks like a "fuzz stick" fire starter, but it was in an area not frequented by people. I've never seen a pattern like this in a beaver chewed tree. Maybe it wasn't a beaver?

Where was the tree?? Were there any tell tale remnants around the stump?

By the way, can you tell I got IT assistance and learned to post pictures? Turns out Outlook doesn't work for sharing and resizing wasn't as simple as it seems to post them. Anybody want to confirm that photos can be seen if not logged in when they are shared as opposed to uploaded/attached?

Some call this art, I thought it might work to keep the Emerald Ash Borer away. It's worked so far.
