Golf in the Wells area
I think I'm going to bring the clubs up for our week long stay in Wells starting Saturday. It looks like Lake Pleasant and Sacandaga golf courses are close by.
Which one would be the best fit for a not so good golfer and his 9 year old son looking to get in a quick nine? Laid back (ie loose dress code, no pressure) and cheap would be my type of course. From the road, LP seems like it fits the bill... but is there any reason why Sacandaga would be a better fit? |

The nine hole course in N'Ville is nice.

It's about an hour from Wells, but Cedar River Golf Course in Indian Lake is a fun, unassuming 9-hole track.
Low pressure, streamside course for beginners and kids. Good breakfast too. Leave the 1-Wood home. Bring a fly rod. |

Big fan of Cronin's in Warrensburg along the Hudson...
Fun course, good amenities, friendly staff & patrons, & super laid back! |

We just golfed LP. It was just what I was looking for. Open, forgiving, in respectable shape. We'll probably go back again.
