Here's Max... Shepherd, Huskie, Rottweiller mutt. He's 12 years old now, gets a little stiff at the end of a long day.
Used to weigh 105 lb when he was younger, he's about 20 lb less than when he was in his prime. Couldn't ask for a better dog, never wanders, never gnaws, never messes in the house, always listens, great with the little ones. My darling bride and I have agreed, when he's gone, no more dogs...we'd never find another like him!

This is my "BIG" trail dog, LOL. Roxy in a Mini Dashound, she is 3 now and loves to go out on the trails with us every since she was a pup. If we take out the kayaks I always have a passenger with me! First pick is a close up of her, the second in my Wife and Roxy at Griffin Falls this past November.

We had to put our dog, Gina, down last August. We are not planning to get another. You never can tell though.

Our hiking buddies Brewster & Mocha ... this pic was taken on a rocky beach in down east Maine. Some forum members have met them ...

Brewster (the reddish colored dog) doesn't hike much any more ... two ACL injuries limit his distance these days. He tore his first ACL while hiking. Mocha (the black/white dog) is a tireless hiker although she now has arthritis in two legs so that has slowed her down a bit.

Here's Cassie at Pharaoh Lake on her first hike years ago. We had to put her down two weeks shy of her 11th birthday on December 6th. Sure do miss my 'baby girl'.

What kind of pooches you have there? They look good; tall and lean.

Hamish, the Border Collie. By far the smartest dog I've ever known. Plus great with the kids and a fantastic trail companion.

Our "Georgie" hanging out in the 8th Lake lean-to. He enjoys riding in our canoe, but I couldn't come up with a pic of him in it.
