Parking in PLW?

Hi all. Wondering if there is parking area in Pigeon Lake Wilderness area by Big Moose Lake. There appears to be a trailhead at Constable Creek. Is there parking there?

There are a couple options there.

You can take your chances and park on the side of the road near where the trail starts. I've done so and seen it done multiple times. I wouldn't do this for an overnight though.

The better option is to park up the road a bit at the boat launch parking area. It's a semi-public launch and the parking area is OK to use. I've parked there overnight with no issue.

The first part of that trail is on private land and the start can be a bit hard to find. There is some signage there on the right where it starts, so keep your eyes open.

Enjoy.

Parking for Constable Creek is on Higby Rd. There's a pull-off for a few cars across from a camp called Sweetwoods Lodge Too. You must walk down the private Judson Rd. to the trail. You can't drive or park on Judson, only walk. When you look at Sweetwoods, Judson is the gravel road just to your left. It has a swinging-bar gate. There is a small trail sign here. Walk down Judson for 1/4 mile to start of trail.

I've left my car here many times, very safe, even for overnights.

That's great thanks! Is this pull off that you speak of a small lot, or just an enlarged shoulder of the road?

Enlarged shoulder of road.

There is a hunting club that sometimes goes into their camp and sometimes they fill up the spaces in the pull-off. If that happens, just park at the boat launch, a short distance further up the road.
