  • MSR DragonFly maintenance: what is cool fuel tool for?

After I had a pump leak in the field, I bought maintenance a kit from MSR for this stove. I got it at MEC (Canadian version of REI). Most if it made sense, but there's one tool in the kit called the "cool fuel tool" which is not documented in the instructions. I tracked it down by various googling. Does anyone know what it's for?

You can see a picture of it here https://www.taigaworks.ca/cart.php?m...t_detail&p=286 (Taiga seems like an interesting outfitter I didn't know about, btw)

MSR and their naming convention... LOL (they couldn't possibly call it cold fuel cleaning tool - you're only supposed to use it on parts that have cooled down to ambient temp)

It's for cleaning the passage of the flame adjuster, watch and learn from the horse's mouth:
Feverishly avoiding "a steady stream of humanity, with a view that offers little more than butts, boots, elbows and backsides". (description quote from Joe Hackett)
