West Canada Lakes Wilderness

Does anyone know about the current conditions in the WCLW? How about access through Perkins Clearing? Trip reports would be great. Thanks.

This last weekend I hiked into Spruce Lake from Piseco. Trail was completely clear. There was some manageable blow down from Spruce Lake up to the West Creek Lean-to. I didn't go any further than there. Typical amounts of mud were encountered.

Ran into a couple guys that brought their boat in from the Spruce Lake trail head. They said the road was opened last Wednesday but not entirely clear. They suggested it would not be a good thing to try in a car at this time. Did not ask about Pillsbury Mt TH.

Thanks very much. I appreciate the information. I have to wait for the road to Pillsbury to be passable for my car, as I do not have AWD/4WD or high clearance.
