Great choice. I like the idea of the steward programs, the little program at Paradox Lake, by their local lake association, at the public boat ramp successfully intercepted and cleaned 4 boats with milfoil and one with zebra mussels. Good chance for young people to get involved, all of the response from the public was positive, lots of people learned something.

Years ago, I met and talked with a summit steward on the top of Dix. I can't remember who was sponsoring her, but I faintly remember the Stewart Shops corporation having something to do with it. In any event, she was most informative regarding alpine plants and I was appreciative for the lesson.

Paradox - I forgot about the kids at the lakes...I was stopped by one at the put in near Saranac Lake (Second Pond, maybe? off Rte3) who talked about the invasives. It was pretty cool - learned something, and he helped launch the kayaks that day.

Paradox,
We are on Cranberry Lake. Could you PM me contact info on the Paradox Lake Association. I think the CL Boat Club would be interested in how to set up a steward program.
Thanks,
John
