Work on Nehasane rail corridor?
Excerpt from the most recent (1/10/19) DEC ADK conditions report:
Lake Lila Road: Lake Lila Road is closed for the season. The road will be plowed so trucks and other heavy equipment can access and work on the rail corridor near the Nehasane Station. The road will not be skiable until the work is complete. Does anyone know the nature of this work?

I recall something being mentioned about a washout on the C-7 snowmobile trail which runs on the rail bed in the winter.
The beavers are hard at work ![]() However, I don't know the scope of the work they have planned (or weather that's the spot).

I was recently informed that the rail road bed is now open(repaired in several washout spots) but since there is not enough snow cover at the present time it still isn't useable.

Or it could be that DEC finally decided to remove the station remains...

Or it could be that the DEC just never got around to updating that part of the report. There were, apparently, some serious washouts between Beaver River and Sabattis that the railroad hadn't bothered to fix, but the snowmobile community raised enough of a complaint that DOT had to hire emergency contractors to get the corridor open for the snowmobiling season.
The above comes to me secondhand, so any other reliable report is welcome to correct what I have heard.
