I'm Back

Well after our 4 day adventure ended it was a long ride home. We had some snow for all 4 days. It took us two days to find them but what a great hunt. We collectively saw 9 deer and kicked out 4 others. Saw one bear, with signs of several others. Lots of different tracks and yes "some" beechnuts. One 5 point was killed. I kicked out and tracked a big boy, but couldn't catch up to him and his girlfriend. Another separate buck was tracked on a different mountain, but never seen before dark. Saw some neat country and had another great ADK adventure. Now it's over until next year. Anyone need a tag? JK.

Sounds like a good 4 days CP. I can't count the number of nice tracks that never slowed down enough to catch up. Glad you had some snow to hunt on. Good luck in Pa.

Nice re-cap, looks like you had some excellent adventures, tracking an ADK buck in snow must really get the adrenaline going.

Sounds exciting in my book CP. Thanks for the narrative on the trip and congratulations on the 5 point. Cheers. Kelly

Any luck yet Eagle? Bio after looking at the map I don't believe I hunt far from you. (as the crow flies that is. I know you experienced guys know this but Anywhere we found any beechnuts the ground was just plain beat up. I saw very little scrape and rub activity over my stay the bucks seemed very much locked up. The buck I jumped the last afternoon made about a 200 yard circle and came back to pick up his doe. If I would a charged up to where he blew out of I may have seen him making his arc. Live and Learn.

CP: No luck up north yet. I have the week after Thanksgiving off and that will be my major hunt up north. I bagged a crotch horn near home during black powder season. That's my meat deer. Will be looking for ole mosseyhorns up north.

Sometimes we win sometimes we go home without. Sorry, to say it has happened to me more times than I care to admit. Next time CP.
