Anyone know of any courses being offered for these?

Sorry to say that you just missed a 5-hour hands-on basic map-compass course for CASART (SAR) members in Inlet. An advanced land nav course is scheduled in a couple of weeks. A GPS course will follow sometime later. CASART is always looking for members who are willing to devote time for training and organizational support for SAR (Boonville SAR is as well). And the training is free. If you want to pay, the ADK offers courses from time to time.

Yeah, always the case for me, "Day late dollar short". I thought maybe Ray Brook might be offering a few basic courses to get oneself started on the right path, no pun intended.

Thanks Wldrns.

I took a basic GPS course a couple years ago at the Visitor's Center in Newcomb. It was taught by ADK guide Lynn Malerba. I think her business is called Adirondack Connections. You could check with her.

I believe the VIC at Paul Smiths may be scheduling a course later this summer or fall with another guide.
