Question It's almost our birthday - do we deserve a present?

On November 7, 2003, Kevin first opened the doors here at ADKForum and "we were born" (kudos again for his vision). Me and Neil came to own the forum in June of 2007 and for the most part we've become a very STABLE and VIBRANT community. Not without occasional dust-ups, but certainly the flow of information on the breadth of topics is pretty impressive and uninterrupted.

Within the next week, we will celebrate 5 years (holy cow ). I've been here for all 5, and it's been quite a run. I think we deserve to treat ourselves? It's been a long time, but I occasionally get inquiries as to patches or other merchandise. For those that go there, the "patch-minded" adkhighpeaks crowd is kinda clamoring for a new run of patches.

and I was thinking that THIS FORUM might be interested too. There was a patch sold here towards the beginning and it incorporated the forum logo on the top left. I'm sure Kevin would get me the artwork or post a picture of one (right Kevin?).

The question is: are we interested? Just answer the poll above and it will give us a gauge of interest. The patches would sell for about $3.50 (1) or $7 (for 2) and be shipped to you. Obviously the minimal proceeds (and they really are minimal), would go to our Foundation.

Also, if you chose the bottom choice (Rather see something else offered?), do us a favor and post a reply with specifically what you'd rather see (i.e. Stickers, Shirts, Fleeces, engraved fly rods , whatever).

Thanks

oh yeah........... HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO US

Here was the old design

The mugs cool

I already have a patch, several in fact, both this forum AND the "other one".

I would also be inclined to favor a hat or a tee shirt.

Car stickers are good too. We Indians often use stickers to hold the body parts of our cars together (Nascar ripped off our idea ).

But then:

The ADK (forum)
might have a problem with the
CPA (Consumer Protection Agency)

and the

EPA

over the

BPA

in the bottles with the

ADK

sticker.

Oh, I'm quite sure Chris meant NON-BPA bottles.

BPA isn't an acronym for Back Packing Accessory?

Het Tim--I've got a granite gear stuff sack I would give you for the birthday... But in all seriousness, which is how I operate--I'm in for at least 4 patches. Or stickers. Or mugs. But if we're talking beer, 4 may not be enough.

I like the idea of doing a "limited edition" run of say, 50 numbered mugs that would be real nice and (you guessed it) real expensive . Well, not really but purchasing one of these collectors items would result in a donation to the foundation.

After the 50 (or 30 or whatever number) get ordered then we would go with more ordinary ones.

I also like the idea of thermos mugs for the car. You know, for those frosty mornings when you get in the car at 3am and drive to the hills.

Mugs seem to be the item of choice. I'm good with that. I'm a coffee and beer addict, so either is okay with me. I'll look at pricing for both and report report back.

Another idea: ADKforum Arcteryx Gore-Tex Pro Shell 4 season parkas! THAT would be something.

I think most of us would pay extra if you can get us mugs where the emoticons on the backside are animated...
