South Pond

Does anyone know the best way to get into South Pond in the Siamese ponds wilderness?

Yup, just suck it up & keep fighting through all of the thickets & blowdown, and keep checking your compass often.

We have a camp near fly creek rd in the paper company easement so we would be coming from the southeast. Iíve heard of people going over county line mtn from Siamese ponds but havenít heard anything about coming in from the south

I bushwhacked my way to South Pond a few years ago. On the way there I went north most of the way up the "2nd" Siamese Pond and then I turned west, then southwest and sort of circumnavigated County Line Mnt. Though there were certainly a few open, hardwood areas, I found the backside of the mountain incredibly thick in many places. Tough going.. A lot of head down, eyes closed, push through thick spruce type hiking.

After spending the night at the pond, I hiked basically east through the notch located to the south of the summit of County Line. Then it was straight down to the southern end of Siamese Ponds. I found this way MUCH easier then my way in. It's definitely still think in places, but overall was better going.

Not sure about the southern approach.
