razorback pond info

hello. i dont post much on here i was looking for some information on razorback pond north of old forge. ive googled and couldnt find much. my buddy said his father took them up there when he was younger and remembers a lean-to and was good fishing?

i like to tent so i was wondering about camp sites? i looks to be around a 3 mile hike. any info as far as trail conditions and camp sites would greatly help.

thanks in advance!!!

My family had a camp on Twitchell Lake for many years in the 60's-late 70's, and I have hiked and hunted the Razorback area quite a lot. The last time I hunted in there, I walked in in the dark and set up a one man tent. The trailhead starts at the end of the Twitchell Lake road at a parking lot at the outlet to the lake. The beginning and most of the trail (an old wagon road) crosses private land, goes around Silver Lake which is totally private, and then circles around to the back side of Razorback. It's been many years since I was in there, but there was a little space for a pup tent where the trail meets the pond. There was a slightly larger spot further around the pond, but it was a bushwack to get to it. There are/were no official camp sites. It used to be stocked by the state, I'd check the DEC stocking info on the web for current stocking info.
. the trail was good enough to use a canoe cart. While it is a state trail, the owners of Silver lake place a high value on their privacy, please respect it.
