Thanks for reminding me about Genesis. My faves are "And Then There Were Three" and "Wind & Wuthering". Kansas is good, too.

Yeah, "Four Seasons" is always a winner.

I teach math to teenagers so forgive me. A typical exchange goes like this:
Me, "No, the answer is ten."
Them, "Whatever."

Here's my top Whatever:

Paul Simon Graceland
Bob Dylan Oh Mercy, Highway 61 Revisited, Blood on the Tracks
Natalie Merchant House Carpenter's Daughter
John Prine 1st album- He was in his early 20's and wrote "Illegal Smile" "Hello In There" "Sam Stone" "Angel From Montgomery" "Spanish Pipedream" (Blow up your tv, move to the country...) and one that is still done by everybody, "Paradise" He could have quit after those songs alone, fortunately he didn't.
Todd Snider Story Teller
Nancy Griffith Other Voices, Other Rooms
Fred Eaglesmith Drive-In Movie
Tim O'Brien Traveler (a song about sneakers has an Adirondack reference), Red on Blonde (another chance to get more Dylan included).
The Band Rock of Ages
Tara Nevins Mule to Ride
Gram Parsons Grievous Angel
10,000 Maniacs In My Tribe
The Beatles Rubber Soul

If Justin enjoys the chimes,
and has mastered the dog whistle, and triangle;
perhaps he might delight in this:

Glen, regardless of what VT says about you, you're OK in my book if you like NMH! A couple years ago after Mangum came out of his semi-retirement, he had a US tour of very small venues. I was lucky enough to see him at a local college, playing in a church of all places. The whole crowd sang along to In the aeroplane over the sea, kids 1/2 my age knew every word. Great time.

Thanks CW. It's not easy taking all this abuse from him. And I'm his mentor!

If you haven't already, check out some tracks from the following;

Edwin Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros
Father John Misty
Courtney Barnett
Dan Auerbach (from the Black Keys but check out the acoustic stuff like Goin' Home)
Novella
Charlie Hilton (100 Million)

I enjoy listening to most genres, and have my favorites from my youth (Zep, Doors, CSN, Cream, Floyd, Tull, etc.) but I continue to be amazed at some of the great stuff coming out on alternative radio.

A strong WFUV influence?
