Bog river Falls : History: Bridge? Hotel?

Was there a hotel at Bog River Falls at Tupper Lake? When and who built the stone bridge?

Graves Hotel was to the left of the falls (looking from the lake). It was right there... There is a famous sketch of it in some of the old books. I may be able to post it if need be...

We've been into all kinds of books but didn't see it anywhere. I'd like to know more about it. I gather the bridge came much, much later?

SPI I just sent you a private message asking you for your e-mail address as I can't figure out how to upload the sketch I have of Graves Hotel at Bog River falls. I know how to send it via e-mail... Maybe you can upload it for all to see once I send it to you...

According to the Bridge Hunter website, the bridge was built in 1925 by a contractor named James Ovitt.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Picturesque_America

Go to wikipedia's page on Picturesque America. In the bibliography at the bottom of the page you can see this book if you click on it. Look for Vol II, not Volume I of Picturesque America. The section on the Adirondacks eventually shows a photo of Bog River Falls if you click through all the pages. That is Graves Hotel to the left in that wood cutting...

Thanks y'all for the leads! I can see where I thought was just a boring area to snorkel in was possibly the site of the lodge? I'll have to look closer next time!

W.W. Graves (the proprietor of Graves Lodge) died a tragic death in 1871. He was deer hunting at Horseshoe Pond, 5 miles from his Lodge at Bog River Falls with his young son and grabbed a deer from his boat while his son was on the shore driving the deer. The boat tipped, the deer and his dog jumped on him and he tired, said good-bye to his son and slowly sank.
