Question Holmes Lake, Mill/Factory/Still ????

I was wondering if anybody knows the history of the old foundation on the hike into Holmes Lake? I have heard it was a broomstick factory or even possibly an old Still to a Tannery. I have tried to contact the Bleeker Historical society with no luck. Any info would be appreciated.
