Use a free third party hosting service like Google Photos, Imgur, Flickr, or similar.
Upload your photos there.
Then choose a photo, right click on it to "save location" (or something like that, it varies from site to site).
Paste that copied location here using the insert phot icon.

Works every time!! No resizing, no muss, no fuss.

I don't recommend PhotoBucket, which recently held photos ransom in a failed bid to extort excessive fees from the users...

Yeah, that photobucket thing was a shakedown.

I must be totally inept, the only way I can use any of these apps like Google Photos is to post a link. The img posting option shows nothing after I paste the link to the image.

EDIT: Nevermind, I think I figured it out. Don't use the link they provide you, need to copy image address from right click menu. Photobucket used to provide a link so I assumed the rest of these would work the same.

When I am in Google Photos and right click on one I am presented with the option "Copy link address" not "copy image address" When I use this option, no photo appears in the post. Can someone advise?
Thanks

If I'm in an Google Photos album, and right click on a photo, I can choose "Copy Link Location". This is NOT the choice you want.
You need to open the specific photo, then you should have a right click option of "Copy Image Location".
That oughta work...

An APP altered photo...

It's frustrating using Google Photo's to store photos as in some forums the photos appear/embedded and others don't show up.

I wonder if there is a "perfect" photo hosting site? Anyone have any suggestions?

Bio, if you are doing this from a phone or an ipad try tapatalk. It automatically hosts/pastes/sizes. It's really wonderful. No idea how long the photos will stick around for, though. That's the only thing I haven't researched.

It’s pretty easy to share photos on facebook. Not quite sure why so many of the ol’ timers are against it but many Adkforum members seem to prefer sharing their photos & videos over there rather than here. There are many Adirondack & outdoor related pages to choose from, many of which often post & share some amazing photography, especially recently with all the peak fall foliage over the past few weeks.
