Mystery Ranch backpacks....

Wanted to get a Bozeman made Terraplane as my last backpack when I could afford one. Now I learned that they are AGAIN being made in Asia. Mystery Ranch seems to SWEAR the quality will remain. Even if there is a dropoff in quality from American made to Asian made do you think I'd still be better off getting a Mystery Ranch over and Osprey or Gregory? Arc Teryx? (particularly for carrying heavy loads more comfortably, and for durability)

I just picked up an imported Glacier, and compared to my issued Terraplane, it's only slightly different. The belt pad attachment is different, and the new style sternum straps and yoke feel slightly lower quality. I wish I'd ordered the civilian Terraplane instead of the smaller pack.

I would choose MR over Osprey, Gregory or Arcteryx any day of the week, solely because the MR yoke is superior. But I would go with Hill People Gear over Mystery Ranch, if they made a big pack with he exterior pocket options that I like.

I recently went form a forty plus year old Berghaus to a Snugpak . The main reason was that the waist strap on the old one didnít go around my waist anymore, I think that the belt must have shrunk . Have to say the new Bergan is a nice bit of kit.

I haven't put in the miles under my foreign born MR pack yet, but it's a much better build than the Osprey and Gregory packs I've used.

I hate the Arcteryx harness and belt, but the gear is equally solid.
