Potluck and Indoor Climbing Competition

I know it's a little late notice, but Rocksport in Queensbury is having a climbing competition and potluck this Saturday (see attached flier).

PLEASE come and at least partake in the potluck (no cost). We're just trying to help keep the capital region/southern adirondack family of climbers connected (it's especially good for our youth team to feel that community).

Potluck starts 6-ish...

Moderators: A million apologies if this announcement is deamed to be gratuitous/commercial. It is absolutley not my intention, and I will completely understand if you need to delete the thread (but still hope you come for the potluck).

Jay...hope to see your crew there. We'll have a great range of boulder problems and roped-routes set for all!

Thanks-
doc (youth team coach)

I don't think Val will be competing.

Oh wait, is there a 'falling" competition?

I do hope to be there, though I've got an apptmt to take one of the locals ice climbing this Saturday and may therefore miss much of the comp. Go guys go!
Val could certainly compete in the one-legged division, right?

But I'm not on crutches, am I?

Know why?

Both feet on the ground.....

I'm a PLAINS Indian.

Keep it up and I'll put a curse on your power company.

Too Late, someone already did.....

Actually READING the poster, I see that there should be no problem arriving at the gym ~6pm. C4C, wanna go to the Waterfall Wall this Saturday? I'm breakin' in one of the kids fr/youth group who has been wanting to try ice climbing. I'll be confirming plans tonight, so if it gets cancelled or something we should know by then.
I could really use the help snowshoeing out, as we're supposed to get a good amt. Friday night...
And maybe afterward we could all commute to the comp...

Great Event

Kudos to Doc & company at Rocksport for the great time last night.
Ugh, Todd, I don't think I could handle real competition! Given that my score was one of the lowest tallied, I'm in trouble in the next few years!

Quickie Article

I had a ball at the comp, and finally came up with a winning strategy (hint: outlive the competition, lol).
So I wrote a little bit about the event.

Thanks to everyone who made the evening so great! We had all kinds of folks competing, spectating, AND CHOWING DOWN!

I need to give a special shout-out to Rocko's eggplant lasagna.

It was great to help bring everyone together for a brief pause between snowstorms. Whether you were there to support your friends or loved ones, pull-down on new routes at the gym, find some warmth after a day out ice climbing, or just poach some grub...a big thanks and Happy Holidays from Rocksport!
