Lapland Lake 12/29/12

Gave my $20 to support small business Sat. and really enjoyed the trails with 2 of my daughters (former competitive XC skiers). Only a few thin spots and lots of recent snow made it quite scenic. The entire network (except lake) is open and in good shape. Their trails are well laid out, up/down and sheltered from wind.

While the parking lot had plenty of cars, there were few people on the blue/black trails away from the lodge area. It snowed all day - driving home was slow.

My darling bride and I stayed there for a couple nights back in '04 or '05...we had a great time and the snow was great! Lots of day skiers and skaters.
Are you a traditional guy? or do you use a skate technique? How about the girls? Is skating allowed in their races?
We're going to get some kicks in tomorrow, sadly, only in the Pine Bush...
