Ski to Valcour Island from Peru Boat Launch?

Does anyone know how thick the ice is on Lake Champlain around Valcour Island? Or how to find out? I'd like to ski out there from the Peru Boat Launch.

I don't know of any reliable source for the thickness of the ice. That tour dropped out of the ADK Ski Touring guide because it was so rare that the ice was safe. At the time, I recommended calling the Wooden Ski and Wheel bike/x-c ski shop near Valcour Island, but that store is now gone. Your only option might be to come down and see if there appears to be any ice fishing activity on that strait. If so, go for it. If not, have another destination in mind.
Every time that wheel turns round, bound to measure just a little more ground.
