Looking for suggestions on a nice paddle....

I'm hoping to take the Mrs. for a nice canoe ride up in the ADK's with the possibility of an overnight camp. Kind of a payback for dealing with me disappearing on weekend trips fishing up in the North country...Not new to the ADK's or paddling but am looking for an easy paddle preferably in the Old Forge Area. I've been looking at the Middle Branch of the Moose River paddling to Old Forge Pond. Is this possible? That stretch is so pretty and I think she would love that....hopefully dropping a tent somewhere on Old Forge Pond or possibly further into the Fulton Chain. Would appreciate any ideas, places or links.....Thanks in advance guys!

Find the Higby road dock on Big Moose Lake. Observe a low spot on the far shore, sight straight out the dock. Paddle there across BML, through the weeds and fallow the channel. When you get to the beaver dam you have some choices about where to hike, and or find a tent spot.

My $.02

You could launch 6th lake and paddle up into 7th lake. I believe there are campsites along 7th...

Thanks for the ideas folks! Leaning more towards a river paddle as opposed to reservoir or Lake/Pond. Still eyeballing the Moose....just looks to beautiful to pass this one up. Now to just work out the logistics.

One Last Thought

Old Forge: River N Rail package via Adirondack Scenic Railroad in conjunction with Tickner's Canoe.
