Question Paddling in/around Ogonquit Maine???

MDB and I are gonna take a few days starting this Sunday to go to Ogonquit, Maine.

We are bringing both of our solo canoes.
Looking for day trip suggestions for paddling and day hikes.
MDB prefers smaller water, meandering streams, even tidal marshes if not too buggy. Any carries should be of the parking area to launch sort...
I'll paddle anything wet, as some of you may know, but don't care for big lakes.

Thanks in advance

I grew up an hour or two north of there, till I was 15. We used to go to the Wells Estuarine Research Reserve at least once or twice a year, but it's been about 13-15 years since the last time I was there. It's just a few miles north of Ogunquit. I am not sure about canoeing there, though there are a couple of small rivers that run through the salt marshes that might be nice if you got the tide right. There are several miles of nice hiking trails, a large sandy beach and a refurbished former saltwater farm that is now the visitor center and such. Here's a link to the website:
