The Adirondcks has lost a very good friend, as have I.

If you have spent much time in or around Inlet, you likely have seen, met, or know Sherry Grimm.
This fine lady has passed on. Her love of the mountains was as deep as anyone I have ever met, and she exemplified the term "Positive attitude".
An avid hiker, she would often be seen hiking about town, she loved to walk wherever she was going. Lean and spry, she would hoof it on down from her cabin on Heroux Hill to Kalils Grocery, the Post Office, or the Inlet Department Store. I used to work in that store and I swear she never came in that she did not have a pocket full of some kind of mints or hard candy or whatever to pass out among the help. Back then, her constant companion was her poodle Flossie, aka "Killer". She was active in, and supportive of, her town. Frequently she would lead beginning hikers on short jaunts to Hess Pond. In my 13 years in Inlet, I swear I never heard anyone say a bad thing about her, and she the same of others.
In my not inconsiderable number of years on this earth, I have been many places and met many people. Its not especially easy to leave a lasting impression on me, but Sherry did so, in spades.
I recall she had a sign on the porch of her cabin that said "If you are lucky enough to be in the mountains, you are lucky enough." Amen, Sister.
Despite being a wonderful place that I dearly love and miss, it is still true that with her passing, the woods and waters of the mountains are, to some small degree, diminished.
Lord rest the soul of Sherry Grimm.

Sherry was well know in the region for her kindness and generosity and will be missed by all who's lives she touched. It is time to share your love with all those who have gone before you...RIP Sherry Grimm
