House Rental Question

I have some in-laws that would like to rent a house in the Adirondacks for a week this summer. It would have to accommodate about 10-15 of them (mostly kids, ~7).

Where are good places to look for houses like this and how much do you think it would cost?

Try Adirondack VRBO or possibly Craiglist

I've rented many houses that I've sourced from there. Costs will depend on size/location/time. Anything in the Lake Placid area around the Ironman competition will either already be booked, or exorbitant.

Sounds like we might have what your interested in. We rent when we're not up there our selves, plan to move up permanently in 3 years.

Part of the old Saranac Inn property but a newer house. Not on the water, but a couple minute walk to the lake, with private beach access and docks so you could bring a boat. We also have a canoe and kayak at the water for you to use. The house will sleep 10. It's Across the street from the golf course and more importantly (to me) a mile to the put in at Little Lake Clear for the St Regis Canoe Area. Lots of paddling, fishing, hiking etc in the area. Near the Wild Center, a must with kids.
We'll extend a 10% discount for the July August rates for forum members.

I just got back from there last night, still some good X/C skiing, but I'm getting ready for some paddling and fishing, it's been a long winter.

Prospect Point Cottages right on Blue Mountain Lake have winter rates until June 26 and include a fantastic (free) breakfast, free firewood, (nice fireplaces), and a great staff. My family stayed there in the past and really enjoyed it. Also it's close to Adirondack Museum and Buttermilk Falls, Lake Durant, etc. During the Summer it's usually fully booked.

Check Rentals at ADK Realty, in Keene Valley. I've used them several times.
