Road conditions to Garnet Lake?

Never having been to Garnet Lake before, I'm hoping to check it out sometime this next week while we are camped at Lewey Lake. From what I can tell, the shortest approach to it from Lewey would be to take Rt 8 to Bakers Mills, then Bartman Rd to Armstrong Rd, then Garnet Lake Rd to the lake. Is this the best approach and what can I expect regarding road conditions? I will be driving a 4wd pickup truck. Thanks for any input!

So how was the road?

Last time I drove the Bartman, it was fine.

Got back from our time at Lewey this afternoon. We went to Garnet Lake yesterday by way of the route I listed in my OP. Good thing I had a pickup truck...Bartman Rd was fine, but Armstrong was a one lane dirt road that became more like an ATV trail by the time we reached the end of it. Rather than returning the same way, we took Garnet Lake Rd all the way to Rt 8, which even though it was a few miles longer, it took about the same amount of time.
