The ADKHighpeaks Foundation is on-line!

At least, the donation receiving arm is on-line.

Just to make sure no one misses out on a great opportunity to feel good about themselves we though we should put this up here, front and center.

In order to make everyones life a little bit easier Tim and Jack have set up a bank account with an on-line donation facility.

Click here to read about it and then go to the donation site.

Incidentally, the purpose of the foundation is:
To provide financial assistance to individuals or organizations whose activities provide a benefit to the New York Sate Forest Preserve and the people that use it. The Foundation has a particular interest in funding wilderness zone and environmental protection, safe recreation, public education and biological research.

I took a look at the site and it does not provide much information. For example is it a 501(3)? Who is on the board? How are grant requests handled? Is there a grant application? How does one contact the organization?

We are whisker away from gaining 501(3) status (have been at it for the past 6 months).

The officers are myself, Mavs, ADKJack, Dick and Peakbagr.

There are no grant applications as yet. Our planned MO is to determine a financial need within our means and then raise the funds via the forums.

We could have waited until getting 501(3)(c) status prior to targeting our first beneficiary but decided to go ahead and raise funds for the Keene Valley SAR team as per this thread.
