Let's give Ward a chance to check out another possible option (post #27 above). As for food, we will probably do a separate post (poll) for this.

Hi gang. I,m having trouble getting a firm commitment from oak mt.
And i dont want to hold people up from making reservations if they wish.
So , we will plan on the gathering here. I will accomodate as many as i can for primitive tent camping. That is to say i have space for quite a number of tents. some wooded areas some open. I have a cabin with room for six, with running water. There is another cabin that belongs to Alpine meadow chalets. It may be available also for a fee.
i can get the number for anyone interested. Across the street is Melody lodge
If you prefer a motel room. they have a bar and a very fine restaraunt.
The dinner saturday nite we can hold in my garage and we can set up some dining tents /flys as necessary.
Also as mentioned before Moffits beach state campground is about three miles from here if you would prefer to camp there. Its a nice state campground with a large sandy beach and hot showers.
We have numerous mt bike trails , and unlimited hiking and kayaking opportunities. So bring all your toys.
If any thing changes i will let you know but lets take it from here.
My apologies for the delay
Ward

Dibs on the cabin for 2.

Ward if you are willing, we'd LOVE for one of our own to host this shindig. Don't worry, we'll assign a WORK detail/crew to manage the before and after details.

Most of the Foundation board has already weighed in and perfectly fine with your joint. Thanks and looking forward it.

As they say: PARTY AT WARD'S PLACE

Dibs on the cabin for 1. (Sylvie can't make it this year).

Ward, is it still necessary to get up 4am and milk the cows? I'm sure Mavs00 would be interested in that.

Huge thanks going out to Ward. I smell an extremely fun weekend coming up on my outdoors calendar.

I may actually be able to make this event.

About time

It's about time that Wardy opened up a little. Of course I'm biased, but I think things will work out well. Plenty of room, loads to do, and enough indoor space that if it's a wet weekend, we can all remain dry. I can sleep 5 or so in my place, but I'm unsure who's coming up with me that weekend as of now.

Hawk can lead a nice paddle up the Kunjamuck to Elm Lake, we can stop down and visit French Louie at his place, I can take some people brook trout or bass fishing if desired as well. For mountain bikers, google Speculator Mountain Bike trails.......

And yes Neil, we do milk the cows at 4:00, unless we're hiking, then we have to start at 3:00.

Now, for fundraising.......I think it would be honorable to auction off beds in all the camps with all proceeds going to the foundation?????? Thoughts? Lance

Yeh right. You just want people to see that I'm short, fat & ugly...

But charming, nevertheless......
