Taking the Long Way

Leaving early tomorrow on our bikes for what I originally intended to be a ride from the southwest area to the northeast. Negotiations with my wife have actually made it more interesting and we'll be following the Ontario shoreline, then the St. Lawrence before finally turning south and passing through the High Peaks. That's the section I really wanted to bike through as we've ridden the southern Adirondacks a couple times and I do plenty of winter camping in the western areas.
Camping most of the way but to make hiking more likely, will be spending three nights in a cabin in Ray Brook. Algonquin is the first choice. Wondering what people have to say about Scarface and/or McKenzie?
And by then going up Whiteface with our loaded bikes will just be a side trip on the way to the ferry to Burlington. Right?
