If I've done this right the first photo is at the finish of the "90 miler" and the second is a GRB Traveler III om Round Pond.

First picture is my Old Town HW 16', makes a nice solo tripping canoe unless there are long portages. 2'nd is gathering firewood in the Minnesota 11. We usually paddle a couple hundred yards away from a campsite and pick up some dead and downed. Dont have to go far to find plenty of wood.

Now nearing the end of paddling season 2010, it's time to think about race season 2011 with new plans and crew building for returning to the Yukon 1000. These are some of my favorites from 2009.

1. Lake Laberge (Cremation of Sam McGee)
2. Eagle, AK (border stop for passport stamp)
3. Yukon Flats (river widens to 4 miles, thousands of shoals and shallows to navigate)
4. A strong finish, almost there
5. 1000th mile complete (Dalton highway bridge - "ice road truckers" highway)

Actually, this was being built by a neighbor of one of the houses we flipped...I've been searching for this photo for years!

And I know you will wonder, just as I did...What the heck is it?!

My daughter and one of my nephews in my old, old, old 18'6" comp cruiser.

This photo from Horseshoe Lake in '90...shortly after my nephew caught a Tiger Muskie...pulled him all around the lake before we adults helped him net it!
